iProv offers up a warm welcome to the newest member of our team, Wesley Patrick Sayles. A go-getter with a passion for unconventional and unique videography, Wesley is a welcomed addition to our iProv family, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him on our team.
Wesley credits his less-than-conventional start in videography about a decade ago to a love for creating and editing funny short videos. He also traces back his success in the videography industry to years of hard work, plenty of Youtube tutorial videos, and of course memes for inspiration.
Take some time to get to know 5 things about Wesley. See how his talents and endeavors have led him to becoming a part of the iProv team.
1. What are you most passionate about?
With video being on the creative side of things, I’m constantly trying to think outside the box in videography. I want to be different. It may sound strange, but I’m passionate about failing. Some of my very best projects have been the result of learning from a rough failure. The best way to be a great videographer, in my opinion, is simply to make films and fail at them. I’m so passionate about perfecting my craft, and I think a lot of this comes back to embracing failure.
2. Tell us about your experience as a videographer.
I didn’t go to college for a videographer degree. In fact, the only degree I have is from North Pulaski High School. My background in videography and editing was born from pure interest, dedication, and a lot of hard work. Of course, it began with editing and creating funny videos and later bloomed through outlets like Youtube tutorial videos, trial and error, and of course hilarious memes.
3. Tell us a little more about you.
Videography is a huge part of my life. When I’m not working on a project for work, I’m typically working on some other videography side project. I care deeply about my craft and spend almost all of my time honing my skills and aiming to bring something new to the table. However, in the rare moments, I’m not working on filming or editing, you can find me longboarding, enjoying time with my friends, and even working out. I recently won a lifetime membership to 10 Fitness, but that’s a story for another time.
4. What would be impossible for you to give up?
That’s an easy answer. I’d never be able to give up the relationships that I’ve created and nurtured through videography. Through this craft, I’ve met and established relationships with so many amazing, unique, and beautiful people.
5. What are you most excited about as the newest member of the iProv team?
I genuinely can’t wait to gain a better understanding and knowledge of the corporate side of video and production. I’ve always taken a creative approach to my video editing and filmmaking, so I’m excited to merge and blend these styles into a corporate setting.
